The native language scarves are a collection of 8 hand painted and block printed maps. The design process is improvised, and evolves over time, combining hand painted marks lines shapes spots dots with my family of much loved Lino blocks and rubber stamps to form individual one-off pieces with a colourful and expressive pattern.
This scarf is a map for getting lost with. Carry it with you as you journey into creative practice and process. This is a map to inspiration, to the thing which keeps you going, the fascination, the shapes, the line, the dot, the texture - those things which lead you further into the flow.
Hang your scarf on the wall during warmer months, enjoy the juxtaposition of the marks and shapes and feel inspired.
Length is 150cm.
Width is 50cm.
Each scarf is created with lightweight organic voile, cotton thread and printed / painted with non-toxic inks.
Care instructions: machine wash 30 °C, iron on cotton setting.
