The native language scarves are a collection of 8 hand painted and block printed maps. The design process is improvised, and evolves over time, combining hand painted marks lines shapes spots dots with my family of much loved lino blocks and rubber stamps to form individual one-off pieces with a colourful and expressive pattern.
Scarf No.6 is a map for navigating cycles of creativity. Beginning to ending. Input to output. The origins of inspiration are in breathing in and for every in breath there must be it’s opposite, the exhale. A complete cycle of input and output. For every season of creative flurry there must also be a fallow period to let things settle. Percolate. Sift. Let there be an absorption of what truly resonates in what you do. Everything else is of little importance.
Hang your scarf on the wall during warmer months, enjoy the juxtaposition of the marks and shapes and feel inspired.

Each scarf is created with lightweight organic voile, cotton thread and printed / painted with non-toxic inks.
Care instructions: machine wash 30 °C, iron on cotton setting.
