The native language scarves are a collection of 8 hand painted and block printed maps. The design process is improvised, and evolves over time, combining hand painted marks lines shapes spots dots with my family of much loved lino blocks and rubber stamps to form individual one-off pieces with a colourful and expressive pattern.
Scarf No. 8 is a map to the very core of creative roots and connects the influence of the studio wall to those ephemeral bits which are fundamental to our making. The accumulation of sketches and scribbles, the intrigue, the mood, the big YES, the I LOVE THAT, the scrap of beauty, the postcard memory, nostalgia for the past, in search for the thing which helps us to remember, with deep longing, our personal interpretation of what it means to experience the pleasure of simply being.

Each scarf is created with lightweight organic voile, cotton thread and printed / painted with non-toxic inks.
Care instructions: machine wash 30 °C, iron on cotton setting.
